What I Hope the World Knows

What I hope the world knows...

What a day to be alive! In a time of discord, of judgement, of disarray and hardships... I hope the world knows that above all else, love conquers all.

No matter a person's country of origin. No matter a person's sexual preference or identity. No matter a person's skin color or language. No matter a person's political position. No matter a person's religion or heritage.

We are called to love another- and that can only be proven through our actions. We cannot claim to love our neighbor and then treat them in complete opposition of that.

Written in the book of 1 Corinthians in the new testament of the Bible, chapter 13 elaborates on this...

"1. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing."

No Love = Nothing. Nothing, guys... absolutely nothing.

It is also later written in 1 John 4:8...

"8. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

It is the underlying teaching of Jesus' ministry on earth, and the model set out for us by a loving and generous God. No matter where you stand amongst humanity, or in your own spiritual walk- know that love is the essence of God, and no human can ever take that from you.

You are SO loved that you are created with a unique and original purpose. You are set aside for such a time, to give of your gifts and talents to a needy world.

You are SO loved that you could never lose God, for He is in connection with you. No matter what you do, what you go through, and what you have to face- He will guide you if your seek Him.

You are SO loved that even when you show hatred towards others, God is there to forgive you.

Over all, what I hope the world knows is that we need everyone to make this thing work. We need everyone to do their part, to love unconditionally, to accept freely, and to empower constantly each other. The body works only when every piece cooperates together, and without that, the body is hurt, aching, disabled- and unable to function as its highest capacity.

You can teach, you can preach, you can pray, and you can believe- but without love, our actions are ultimately in vain.

Encourage someone today.

Acknowledge someone with whom you find differences.

Empower those who seem weak.

Seek out and support the vulnerable.
